Functional Capacity Evaluations |
This is a thorough evaluation that takes approximately 4 hours to complete that measures a patient's ability to perform various types of material and non-material activities that relates to job-specific demands. Examples include: Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Stooping, Bending, etc. The primary purpose of this test is to determine what the patient's physical capabilities are in order to return to work safely. |

Job Task Analysis |
This is a formal bio-mechanical assessment/measurement of all aspects of a specific job duty/position. A JTA helps determine accurate job descriptions and helps reduce the potential threats of musculoskeletal injuries by knowing specific measurements and/or physical requirements an employee might encounter on a day to day basis. Measurements include material and non-material handling aspects of the job position and if the employee would perform those on a constant, frequent, occasional, or seldom basis. A JTA is essential in the proper development of a narrative job description especially in determining the physical demands requirements. |

Lymphedema |
Lymphedema is an abnormal accumulation of lymphatic fluid, which causes swelling that typically occurs in the arm(s) or leg(s) but may arise in any part of the body. This condition may occur insidiously or after surgery, radiation therapy, infection or trauma. Lymphedema is treated with "Complex Decongestive Therapy", which is provided by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT). Decongestive treatment is also effective in treating chronic venous insufficiency. |
